What's on Tap at the Library?

A day late again, sorry everybody. I'm going to get back in gear I promise! The following programs are happening over the remainder of this week:
  • Games & Fun 1/14/09 at Sanger from 12-4. Come enjoy board games and other fun activities.
  • Peer Tutoring 1/14/09 at Woodward from 3:30-4:30pm. Need help with homework? Want to ask someone your own age? Bring your homework & drop on by. First come, first served. In the conference room in the Teen Zone.
  • Teen Book Club 1/14/09 at Sunnyside from 4:30-6:00pm. Ever read a book you couldn’t wait to share? Ever hated a book so much you threw it across the room? Join other readers to share the books you’ve absolutely loved, absolutely hated or anywhere in between. Readers May discuss any type of book. New members are always welcome.

  • Teen Video Game Hour 1/15/09 at Woodward from 5:30-6:30pm. Halo 3 in the Story Room.
  • MySpace Photo Shoot 1/15/09 at Fowler from 6-7pm. Strike a funny or cool pose, make funky edits, & then upload them to your MySpace page! Registration required.
  • Connect with Classics 1/15/09 at Woodward from 7-8pm. Love to read? Want to catch up on old & new classics? Join us for a discussion about a new book every month. August - May. January is Cry the Beloved Country.
  • Mother/Daughter Book Club 1/15/09 at Clovis from 7-8pm. Young women (and the young at heart) can share their love of reading with the significant women in their lives. Mother and daughter pairs of all ages are welcome; however, because books will be selected from both the teen and adult collections, the minimum age is 7th grade.
  • Wii Gaming for Teens! Rock Band is here! 1/15/09 at Fowler from 3:30-5:00pm. Come rock out with your friends! Every OTHER Friday starting January 16th through May 1st from 3:30-5:00pm!
  • Visions of the Future 1/17/09 at Sunnyside ALL DAY. Marathon of 3 famous visonary films (2001, Blade Runner, Fifth Element). Call branch for time of a specific film.
  • Multicultural Community Potluck! 1/17/09 at Fowler from 1:30-3pm. Let's all bring our favorite family recipe to the table! Informal get-together with quick announcements about what programs you might want to put on your calendar for 2009!

Get your Game On! is a program at Caruthers from 2-6pm each Saturday. Weekly Magic the Gathering card games. Decks available for checkout from the Caruthers Branch. Also, for added fun board games such as Risk are available for play. There will also be online games such as Runescape for play. All are welcome, but mostly teens attend. Please don't be late as the branch officially closes at 2:00 pm, but we run our games in the meeting room and computer lab after hours.
