Jessica's Guide to Dating on the Dark Side

Jessica's Guide to Dating on the Dark Side by Beth Fantaskey (2008)

Jessica is thrilled to be entering her senior year of high school. She is all about having fun and living life to the fullest. Marrying a vampire is not in her plans. So when the bizarre (and insanely hot) Romanian foreign exchange student, Lucius Vladescu, shows up claiming that Jessica is a Romanian vampire princess and his long-lost fiancĂ©e, Jessica freaks out. When her adopted parents confirm Lucius’s story, she really freaks out and wants no part of it.

But there is something about Lucius that Jessica is drawn to. He courts her one day and mocks her the next. Jessica finds him unnerving and tries to live her life like he isn’t there, but all that changes when Lucious gets hurt. She starts to believe the stories she has been told. Just as Jessica begins to fall for Lucius and accept her destiny, he decides to become more American and pushes Jessica away. To make matters worse, her archenemy sets her sights on Lucious. Now Jessica (armed with her copy of Growing Up Undead: A Teen Vampire’s Guide to Dating, Health, and Emotions) finds herself fighting to win back her prince and stop a vampire war.

This book is not what it seemed and I was surprised at how much I liked it! I stayed up way too late so I could finish it and liked it better than those other vampire books.
