Winter's End

Winter's End by Jean-Claude Mourlevat (Translated by Anthea Bell)

When Helen and Milena left their all-girl boarding school one October evening, they had no idea a change meeting with two boys, Milos and Bart, would change their lives.

After meeting with her counselor, Helen goes to find Milena at the library. She finds a note instead saying that her friend would not be returning to school and not to worry. Helen rushes to send a secret note to Milos, only to find that Bart didn't go back to his school either. During a clandestine meeting, Milos tells her what really happened to all their parents and how it is no accident that were assigned to their boarding schools. Milos and eventually Helen decide to follow Bart and Milena. What follows is a journey the four seem destined to make. Can these teens revive the revolution their parents were a part of?
