Graphic Novel of the week

This winter had been a tough one here at RWL. All of us had our share of the sniffles, sneezes and fevers. "If you have a fever...stay home," was the advice we got a few times a week. So we did. This gave some of us a chance to catch up on some reading. I, being a huge fan of graphic novels, picked up Blankets, by Craig Thompson.

This a somewhat autobiographical story of a boy growing up into being a man. About his first look and experience of love. About questioning his parents religion and what it means to be a good person.

Craig is a misfit. Doesn't do too well in school...kids pick on him for various reasons. Turns out his only solace is drawing. He gets older and tehn meets the girl of his dreams...she brings him out of his shell. That's when the problems start.
