Bright Young Things series

Bright Young Things (first in the Bright Young Things series) by Anna Godbersen

From the author of The Luxe series comes another intriguiging set of characters set in New York, this time during the roaring 20s. There's Cordelia Grey, who finds her long lost father, a famous bootlegger - it is prohibition time, after all. Then there's Letty Larkspur, who moved to New York to become a star, but finds there are countless pretty girls with the same dream. And then there's Astrid Donal, a flapper socialite who seems to have it all...but things aren't always as they seem.

Here's what I loved about this book: I found myself rooting for the characters and hoping things would turn out for them. But just when they appeared to find happiness, I'd know some kind of misfortune was lurking around the corner. It was just like a twisty roller coaster, and I can't wait for the next one!

Catch this series from the beginning:
  1. Bright Young Things
  2. Beautiful Days

I just read the first book of the Luxe series, and though it isn't the deepest stuff I've read, I have to admit that the twists, turns and intrigue she includes in the book are addicting. I might have to read this after I'm done with the Luxe.

Yep, definitely not the kind of books that will change your life, but they are page turners - that's for sure.

I liked The Luxe series better because I'm a fan of that era in Old New York, but this one is addictive, too.
