Need Volunteer Hours? We Can Help!


If you need some volunteer hours for school or church, FCPL would be glad to have you!

With so many different opportunities available, you're bound to find a way to help out that is a good match for your personality, skill-set, and schedule.

Current Opportunities for High School-Aged Volunteers


Early Learning Center Aide (15 years or older) – Cleans baby toys and keeps the Early Learning Center organized. Interacts with parents and children. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to bend down.

Homework Help (15 years or older) – Volunteers help K-8 students with homework 2-4 hours weekly. Commitment is a minimum of a school semester. Program runs September – June at the following libraries: Betty Rodriguez Regional Library, Sunnyside Regional Library, Woodward Park Regional Library.

Program/Activity Assistance (16 years and older) – Volunteers put together arts and craft activities. Gaming volunteers facilitate chess and other games. You can also volunteer to help with the summer reading program at some library locations.

Summer Lunch Program Volunteer (16 years and older) – Volunteers must be reliable, enjoy kids, and have the physical ability to set up, serve meals to kids, monitor, and clean up. Program runs June 24 – July 29 (weekdays), at Betty Rodriguez, Central, Mendota, Orange Cove, Sanger, Selma, and Sunnyside libraries. Volunteer shifts are two hours (openings and shift times vary by library). Must attend volunteer training.

Current Opportunities for Both High School and Middle School-Aged Volunteers


Teen Council – 7th-12th grade volunteers plan programs, select books, music and more, and help with other projects of benefit to Fresno County teens. Program runs September – May.

Service learning hours are available for classes and clubs requiring students to volunteer at a non-profit organization for the semester.

One-time volunteer opportunities are available for individuals and groups.
