Being Jazz: My Life as a (Transgender)Teen by Jazz Jennings

At the age of six, Jazz Jennings's transition to life as a girl put her in the public spotlight after she shared her story with Barbara Walters on national television. In the decade since then, prestigious awards, high-profile interviews, a documentary, the launch of her YouTube channel, and her own TLC docu-series, I Am Jazz, have made her one of the most recognizable and prominent advocates for transgender teens.

But her journey hasn't always been easy. Jazz's openness has also led to bullying and mistreatment from those who don't understand her choices. She's had to cope with the humiliation of not being able to use the girls' bathroom, the disappointment of not being allowed to play on a girls' soccer team, and the stress of finding friends who with accept her for who she is.

Now Jazz must face an even greater challenge--navigating the physical, social, and emotional upheavals of adolescence, made even more complicated by the unique challenges of being transgender.

Being Jazz: My Life as a (Transgender) Teen is a remarkable memoir about accepting yourself, learning to live an authentic life, and helping everyone to embrace their own truths.

Update: Congrats to, Olivia L.!
