Teens' Top Ten

The Young Adult Services Association, or YALSA as we like to call it, asked teens to vote on their favorite books in an online poll. Voting took place from August 24 to September 18 and the winners were announced a couple of weeks ago. Do you agree with the list? Let us know!

1. Paper Towns by John Green

2. Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer

3. Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

4. City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare

5. Identical by Ellen Hopkins

6. The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman

7. Wake by Lisa McMann

8. Untamed by P.C. and Kristin Cast

9. The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks by E. Lockhart

10. Graceling by Kristin Cashore

I am outraged. Breaking Dawn shouldn't have been voted #2, but it only won because all of the Twilight fanatics voted for it. And unless Untamed is better than all of the other books in the House of Night series (I haven't gotten around to reading it yet) it doesn't deserve a place on this list at all. Living Dead Girl should have placed, but it probably wasn't popular enough, and everyone probably thinks it's creepy (which it is, but Brave New World is also creepy, and it's a classic).
