- Contest open to all students, grades 4-12, residing in California (2 Divisions: A is 4th-7th grades and B is 8th-12th).
- No fee is required to enter.
- Entry consists of three parts:
- Contest Permission Form
- Contest Entry Form
- Contestant’s work
- All submissions must be the student’s unpublished original work.
- Each student may submit only one entry and can participate in only one division.
- Awards (1 each division)
- First Place: $150
- Second Place: $100
- Third Place: $ 50
The illustrated stories will also be made available to conference attendees. Award winners and artists will be honored at the "Oz: The Books" conference on Sunday morning, May 16th, at the Satellite Student Union on the Fresno State campus. Their families will also be invited as special guests.
Entries must be postmarked by January 29, 2010, or delivered by 5 p.m. on that date to:

Winners will be notified by February 26, 2010. The early deadline is to give time to the CSU student artists who will provide cover art and/or illustrations.
