21 - Adele

When studio footage of Adele's "Rolling In the Deep" hit YouTube last November, I was hooked. I fell in love with this song and kept checking iTunes obsessively for the single to be released.  It seemed the February 22 release date of 21 was years away, but a friend let me know that NPR was streaming the entire album and I was hooked.

If you haven't heard of Adele, you've been missing out.  She is not a pop singer and you'll hear more emotion in just one note than you'll hear from most other artists.  I can't remember how many times I listened to 21, but it's good from start to finish.  As with most albums, there are songs I prefer more than others, but I still find myself listening to the whole thing.  "Rolling in the Deep" is my current favorite (even after all these months) "Rumour Has It" reminds me of songs from the past and makes me want to dance in my chair.  Of all the songs, the one that catches me off guard is "Someone Like You."  The album version is nice, but I much prefer the live version:

How many artists can you say that about? Give Adele a listen; you won't regret it.
