In January, we posted "what we were excited about in the year 2011" and I said was looking forward to was Paul.  I should preface this by stating I am a big fan of Simon Pegg and Nick Frost.  Love everything they do as collaborators.

Paul is a story about best friends, Graeme and Clive, two English nerds who decide to take a holiday to America to attended Comic Con.  After the convention ends, they decide to rent an RV and take a road trip to various UFO spots around the US.  After a brief stop at The Black Mailbox, a car crashes in front of them.  The car seems unoccupied until they turn around and see Paul, the alien, smoking.  Paul pleads with Graeme and Clive to help him escape the government and get home.  Seems simple enough.  But what happens is kidnapping, being on the run from the feds, and a crazy shotgun-wielding father, and finding out who is really behind the movie E.T.

I saw some clips of this movie last July, so I had an idea of what I was getting into, but this movie blew away all the expectations I had. It's funny, charming, sweet and a little heartbreaking at times. It's rated R for language mostly and adult humor, but the movie is a lot of fun and I can't wait to see it again.
